Whit Waide is assistant clinical professor in the department. He also serves as university pre-law advisor. He teaches American Government, Constitutional Law, Introduction to Law, and Administrative Law. He has also taught a variety of courses in the Honors College, including Art Law. He was responsible for the creation of the university’s minor in pre-law.

Waide is a graduate of Millsaps College and Ole Miss Law School. After a number of years in private practice in Jackson, Mississippi, he joined the Mississippi State faculty full time in 2006.

Waide was named MSU Student Association Professor of the Year in 2011. He was named Outstanding Undergraduate Professor by the department in 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016.
