Dr. Vasabjit Banerjee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration where he teaches comparative politics and international relations. His primary research interests are contentious politics and the local political-economies of state-formation in developing societies; specifically South Asia, Latin America, and Southern Africa. He also conducts research on electoral institutions and domestic influences on foreign policies of developing countries.
His research has appeared in theInternational Political Science Review,Journal of Asian and African Studies,Journal of Elections, Public Opinions and Parties, Journal of Current Chinese Affairs,Politics and Religion andRepresentation.
His book Undoing the Revolution: Comparing Elite Subversion of Peasant Rebellions was published with Temple University Press in 2019.
