Stephanie Arnette Pink, Ph.D. student, will take part in the "Preparing Future Faculty" program for the 2010 academic school year. The highly competitive program is conducted through the Office of the Graduate School.
The program caters to doctoral students in their final years of study. Workshops kick off in the fall with the majority of sessions occurring during the spring semester.
Pink is in the dissertation portion of her doctoral studies, working under the direction of Dr. Jerry Emison. She teaches American Government and Introduction to Public Policy.
Her research interests include economic development, community development, representative bureaucracy, public policy, and local government planning.
She has presented her work at several academic conferences, including the Public Administration Theory Network Conference, The Mississippi Political Science Association, The Southwestern Political Science Association, the National African American Student Leadership Conference, the Conference for Minority Public Administrators (Invited) and the Southeastern Conference for Public Administration (forthcoming October, 2010).
She earned her bachelor's from Auburn University in criminology and public administration and her master's of public administration with a minor in community planning from Auburn University. While pursuing her undergraduate and master's, she was employed with the United States Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Research Services at the Auburn Location Administrative Office under the S.C.E.P: Student Career Experience Program, and the S.T.E.P: Student Temporary Employment Program.
